GETTING YOUR STEPS IN THIS WEEKEND A Judge of Stroke (JOS) is a certified swimming official who walks the pool deck during swim meets to ensure athletes strictly adhere to the rules governing specific swimming styles (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle). They immediately report rule infractions to the race referee.
