Otter Squads (levels)
Intro to Swimming
Group requirements:
- 5 - 10 years old
- Comfortable in deep water with insructor in the water
Training Days/ Times (Choose 1-2 days):
- Tuesday and/or Wednesday: 3:30pm - 4:00pm
End of Session Goals:
- Comfortable in deep water on their own
- good body awareness in the water
- Introductury understanding of freestyle and backstroke
Otter Development
Group requirements:
- Comfortable in deep water without a parent
- Ages 6+
Training Days/ Times (Choose 1-2 days + dryland):
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 5:15pm - 6:00pm
- Tuesday: 4:00pm - 4:45pm
- Friday (everyone welcome dryland): 4:00pm - 5:00pm
End of Session Goals:
- Able to swim 1 length of the pool
- Know both freestyle and backstroke
- Able to dive
- Able to flip and touch turn
Otter Junior 1
Group Requirements:
- Can swim 1 length of the pool
- Good knowledge of freestyle and backstroke
- Can dive
Training Days/ Times (Choose 1-3 days + dryland):
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 6:00pm - 7:00pm
- Friday (everyone welcome dryland): 4:00pm - 5:00pm
End of Session Goals:
- Able to swim 4 lengths (100m) without stopping
- Understand breaststroke and butterfly
- Able to turn well and dolphin kick 3 kicks under water in streamline
- Athletic swim start off blocks
Otter Junior 2
Group Requirements:
- Able to swim 4 lengths (100m) without stopping
- Understand breaststroke and butterfly
- Able to complete flip and touch turns
- Competent in freestyle and backstroke
Training Days/ Times (Choose 1-3 days + dryland):
- Tuesday: 4:45pm - 5:45pm
- Wednesday: 6:00pm - 7:00pm
- Thursday: 4:00pm - 5:00pm
- Friday (everyone welcome dryland): 4:00pm - 5:00pm
End of Session Goals:
- Able to complete a 200 Individual Medley with no disqualifications
- Able to dolphin kick 5m off of every wall for 200m
- Full understanding of all 4 strokes
Otter Senior
Group Requirements:
- Able to complete a 200IM "legally"
- Full understanding of all 4 strokes
- Ability to focus on technique that will be taught
- Ability to train full 75min practices
Training Days/ Times (Choose 1-4 days + dryland):
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 4:00pm - 5:15pm
- Tuesday: 5:45pm - 7:00pm
- Friday (everyone welcome dryland): 4:00pm - 5:00pm
End of session goals:
- Refined technique in all 4 strokes
- Increased aerobic abilities
- Increased anaerobic abilities
- Able to re-teach what they have learned to other swimmers
